As
time goes by, things change and so has it here at Paxton’s
Countertops & Kitchens. It
has been twenty years since Gary Paxton first began building
countertops in his garage at home, almost as a hobby.
As his “Hobby” grew, his business outgrew his garage.
By this time Gary was building countertops for contractors as
well as homeowners.
Ted’s
Carpet Service on the corner of Ashland Avenue and South Spring Garden
Street was Paxton’s second location (it has since been demolished
for road widening). Gary’s father, owner of Ted’s, offered Gary a
larger workshop. By this
time Gary had become a dealer for DelWood/Lakeview kitchen cabinetry.
In 1982 Gary purchased Ted’s Carpet Service as his father
accepted employment with the county.
Paxton’s grew so quickly. We needed yet more room for
displays. Gary went in
search of a larger building. In
1985 he purchased the old Cumberland Firehouse at 121 E. Louther
Street in Carlisle. This has become our third and hopefully final
location.
It
has been twenty years since Gary began installing kitchen cabinets and
building countertops. We are now offering Swanstone solid surface as
well as laminate countertops. We
have continued our Dealership with DelWood Kitchens.
Our carpet and vinyl sales are stronger than ever with hundreds
of remnants in stock. We also continue a local distributorship for
Cultured Marble vanity products.
We’ve
had such a great time over the past 20 years helping our customers
achieve the “kitchen of their dreams”. We are hoping to give our
customers another 20 years of service.
Thank
you for helping make our business a fun success.
